Cessna That Traveled 801 mph in Absolutely Furious Jet Stream Did Not File Flight Plan

Cessna Virgin Airlines sitting at airport before flight.

Earlier this week news broke that a Cessna flying at ~35,000 ft in a very, very furious jet stream clocked an insane 801 mph.

“The typical cruising speed of a Cessna is 561 mph,” according to our Aviation Daily News transportation correspondent. “Also, the pilot didn’t file a flight plan.”

The Cessna without a flight plan made the non-stop trip from L.A. to London in a miraculous 5 hours and 13 minutes, the fastest subsonic transatlantic Cessna flight on record.

Apparently the jet stream is still furious.

The Jet Stream still hasn’t gotten over it.
