ALPA Urges End To Government Shutdown

With no FAA oversight the 8 hour rule from bottle to throttle can’t be enforced.

The Air line Pilots Association (ALPA) president Capt. Joe DePete has written a letter to President Donald Trump urging a quick end to the government shutdown, citing issues with airline safety.

“The nation’s airspace system is a complex transportation network that involves government and industry partnerships to function properly, and the disruptions being caused by the shutdown are threatening the safe operations of this network. Pilots are known to party and with no FAA oversight the 8 hour rule from bottle to throttle can’t be enforced” Capt. DePete said in the letter, dated January 2.
