Dwarfs In Aviation Preparing to Fly

“The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) today announced a pilot program to help prepare people with disabilities for careers in air traffic operations. A key focus for the FAA’s Office of Civil Rights is to identify specific opportunities for people with targeted disabilities, empower them and facilitate their entry into a more diverse and inclusive workforce.”

People with targeted disabilities will be mapped to the following jobs:

Hearing (total deafness in both ears) – Air Traffic Controller
Vision (Blind) – Aviation Safety Inspector (ASI) for General Aviation Operations (GAO)
Missing Extremities – Propeller inspector
Partial Paralysis – Field Approval Inspector who signs block 3 of Form 337
Complete Paralysis, Epilepsy – Helicopter Airman Check Pilot
Severe intellectual disability – Governance and Regulatory Development
Psychiatric disability – Walk-in Customer Service at FSDO
Dwarfism – Small Unmanned Aircraft (Part 107) Safety Inspector
