General Aviation Pilots Prefer Landing on All Three Wheels

Whether you fly a conventional gear (taildragger) or the newer tricycle gear style airplane, it has become commonplace for most pilots to use all three wheels on every landing.

As this video clearly shows most pilots seem to have no idea what kind of landing gear the plane they are flying has and always land on all three wheels:

We spoke to one airframe & powerplant (A&P) mechanic about this via satellite phone while vacationing on his sailboat in the Caribbean. He stated – on the condition of anonymity – “I see nothing wrong with tricycle gear airplanes landing in the three-point attitude, in fact I encourage it.”
