In a stunning move to start the new year, the Commission Internationale de Voltige Aérienne (CIVA) has announced they are considering allowing the Pitts Special Biplane to compete in the World Advanced Aerobatic Championship (WAAC).
Details have not been released; however, a member of the organization said that world demands can no longer be ignored. The proposal under consideration would allow Pitts with over 300hp including S-2B, S-2C, S-2S, S1-11-B, Model 12, and Pitts S1 models with over 210 hp to be eligible for world level competition under a new category system.
